🌄 Hikes & Nature

⛰  |  Flatiron via Siphon Draw – Superstition Mountains

  • A challenging climb with a serious payoff — sweeping views over the Valley from this rugged, red rock summit. Best for experienced hikers and early mornings (before the sun takes over).
  • Park in the Flatiron/Crossroads Trailhead lot at Lost Dutchman State Park (5201 N Apache Trail, Apache Junction, AZ 85119). From there, follow signs to the Siphon Draw Trail.

🌅 |  Red Mountain – Mesa Area

  • While access to the peak itself is restricted, trails around Red Mountain offer striking sunset views and a less-trafficked nature fix. Head to Red Mountain Park for a walk with a view.
  • Park at Red Mountain Park’s main lot, located at 7740 E Brown Rd, Mesa, AZ 85207. This gives access to trail loops around the park.

🦆 |  Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch – Gilbert

  • Stroll scenic trails alongside peaceful water habitats where you might spot ducks, turtles, or a heron or two. Ideal for sunrise walks and a kid-friendly intro to Arizona nature. Bonus: it's just minutes from downtown Gilbert.
  • Use the public parking lot at 2757 E Guadalupe Rd, Gilbert, AZ 85234, adjacent to the Visitor Center and lake paths.

🌵 |  San Tan Mountain Regional Park – Queen Creek

  • Rolling desert trails with something for everyone — from easy loops to heart-pumping climbs. Look for cacti in bloom, wide-open vistas, and maybe even a roadrunner or two.
  • Head to the Phillips Road Visitor Center lot, located at 6533 W Phillips Rd, Queen Creek, AZ 85142. Trailheads like Goldmine, Stargazer, etc., start from here.

🚗  |  South Mountain Scenic Drive – Phoenix

  • Not up for a hike? Take a drive through one of the largest urban parks in the U.S. and pull off at Dobbins Lookout for panoramic desert views. Great at golden hour.
  • Park at Dobbins Lookout on Scenic Drive, Phoenix, AZ 85042 (76th St & Scenic Drive). The paved pull‑off lot gives stunning view access.

🥾  |  Wind Cave Trail – Usery Mountain Regional Park

  • A moderate, scenic climb with panoramic views of the Valley and a breezy cave at the turnaround point. Wildflowers in spring, desert serenity year-round — this one’s a guest favorite for a reason.
  • Park in the Wind Cave Trailhead lot, via 9850 E Rittenhouse Rd, Mesa, AZ 85212. Follow the signs for Wind Cave from the main park entrance.
